The Pierce Street Community Garden was established in 2021 as a collaboration with Team Big Hearts from the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance Leadership Lynchburg’s 45th class. The Garden is located behind the Calloway Store at 1301 Pierce Street.
After an eight-month process, the garden was officially opened on September 30, 2021, as a hub for community engagement, a shared space to help promote sustainable agriculture, and to provide a fresh food source for the neighborhood. The Garden is always open to the public.
We welcome volunteers to help with planting, harvesting, general maintenance of the garden, and food distribution to our neighbors. Volunteer sessions are held every Saturday morning from 9 – 11 a.m. from April to October.
